Types of equations

I thought I would continue the theme of listing types again this week, this time with equations.

線型方程式 – せんけいほうていしき – Linear equation
一次方程式 – いちじほうていしき – linear (first degree ) equation
二次方程式 – にじほうていしき – quadratic (second degree) equation

高次方程式 – こうじほうていしき – higher order (three and above) equation
三次方程式 – さんじほうていしき – cubic (third degree) equation
四次方程式 – よじほうていしき – quartic (fourth degree) equation
五次方程式 – ごじほうていしき – quintic (fifth degree) equation
六次方程式 – ろくじほうていしき – sextic (sixth degree) equation

無理方程式 – むりほうていしき – Irrational equation (radical equation)
分数方程式 – ぶんすうほうていしき – fractional equation

連立方程式 – けんりつほうていしき – simultaneous equaitons
